Open auto transport

Open vehicle transport: open transport is cheaper than enclosed vehicle transport. Mostly price is determined by the weight of the vehicle being shipped. Open auto transport happens on 10 car carriers with 5 cars on the bottom and 5 cars on the top. These cars are exposed to certain elements like wind, dirt, dust, dust, snow, ice, rain and hail. In open carriers, the car is secured by one or two chains wrapped around the cars tires. Open carriers are cheaper, lighter and can carry more vehicles. Open trailers have industry standard and so there can be faster pick up and delivery window.

Enclosed auto transport

Enclosed auto transport costs between 75% and 100% more than open auto transport. In enclosed auto transport there are no more than 2 or 3 cars per truckload. They are not exposed to any elements. Enclosed transport is good for classic, exotic, or high end luxury cars. In enclosed carriers, special safety is required to keep the vehicle inside from sliding around and becoming damaged. Heavy duty ropes are attached so that there is no motion in the vehicle. Some enclosed carriers have cloth overcoat so that it can be protected from certain elements like dust, dirt etc. enclosed carriers have soft or hard sidewalls. Soft sidewalls allow the transporter to ship larger and wider vehicles. Hard sidewalls restrict the size of the vehicles. Enclosed carriers are taken much care while being loaded, transported and off loaded.
